The American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (ASTMH) 68th Annual Meeting will take place at the National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland (adjacent to Washington, DC) from November 20 – November 24, 2019. This year’s meeting will include several sessions and presentations on enteric fever, with updates on disease burden, novel methods for enteric fever surveillance and TCV introduction. Join the Take on Typhoid team on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 12:00 to 1:30 PM for “Leading the way with typhoid conjugate vaccines” a lunchtime reception to recognize the countries making the decision to introduce typhoid conjugate vaccines. Hear from representatives of Pakistan, Zimbabwe and Liberia as they share first-hand accounts of their experiences in advocating for the introduction of TCV in their country, outlining the process from early consideration of the vaccine, to receiving Gavi approval, to early preparations for introduction.
